The Accademia Chigiana presents a new concert for the “Roll Over Beethoven” cycle, the winning project of the SIAE “Per chi Crea” grant in 2019, which involves young musicians in the interpretation of the works of Ludwig van Beethoven on the occasion of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary anniversary of his birth. The concert features the young violinist Giuseppe Gibboni, a student of Salvatore Accardo at Chigiana, and the pianist Stefania Redaelli, in a program that pays homage to the music of the German composer, in particular with the Sonatas for Violin and Piano op.12 n. 1 and op.24 n. 5 called “La Primavera”. At the center of the program is the intense composition for solo violin “A Paganini” by Alfred Schnittke, one of the main Russian authors of the twentieth century, performed in the eighteenth-century anti-chapel of the Palazzo Chigi Saracini, dedicated to Santa Cecilia, patron saint of music, the work of architect Arturo Viligiardi.
Born in 2001, Giuseppe Gibboni began studying violin with his father at the age of three, and at the age of 15 graduated from the “G. Martucci” Conservatory of Salerno under the guidance of Maurizio Aiello. He has been a pupil of Salvatore Accardo at the Accadmia Chigiana since 2016, earning the Diploma of Honor. He is currently studying with Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Since 2012, he has won numerous first prizes in National and International Competitions; among the most recent the “Progetto Guglielmo” International Competition (2019) and the 36th Valsesia Musica International Competition (2020). He has recorded with the Warner Classic record company, accompanied by the New Chamber Orchestra “F. Busoni “directed by Massimo Belli. He has performed in prestigious theaters and concert halls in Italy and Europe, also thanks to the “Young Italian Musical Talents in the World” project promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Accademia Chigiana.
Stefania Redaelli graduated in piano at the Milan Conservatory under the guidance of Ernesto Esposito. She also studied with B. Canino, M. Perahia, P. Borciani (Italian Quartet), D. De Rosa and N. Brainin (Amadeus Quartet ). She is a collaborating pianist for the courses of Salvatore Accardo, Rocco Filippini, Franco Gulli, Yo-Yo Ma, Viktor Tretyakov, Lukas Hagen, Asier Polo and Boris Belkin at the Accademia Chigiana, the “W. Stauffer ”and the Garda Lake Music Festival. She is also a professor of Chamber Music at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan and piano teacher at the Academy of High Specialization in Sacile (PN). She has recorded for numerous record labels also as a conductor. Her double CD in piano duo with Gabriele Dal Santo with the original transcriptions by Brahms of his string quartets has recently been published for Aulics Classics. As a soloist she has performed with the orchestras of the RAI in Milan, the Pomeriggi Musicali and the Angelicum in Milan, with the San Remo Symphony Orchestra and the Padua Chamber Orchestra. Redaelli performs with internationally renowned musicians in prestigious theaters and associations both nationally and internationally.
The project “Roll Over Beethoven” is supported by the MiC and SIAE, within the program “Per Chi Crea”
